Luke Littler has delivered his verdict on Manchester United’s draw with Liverpool on Sunday mere days after he slammed his favourite side following his World Championship win
Luke Littler has reacted to Manchester United’s point at Anfield just days after his brutal flop verdict.
The Paddy Power PDC World Darts Champion slammed his favourite team in the lead-up to the clash. He fumed: “No idea. Well, we’ve all got an idea… Just the players. There’s some players in the club [who] are getting on a bit.
“They need to go and play somewhere else. And, obviously, we need to find the right players to fit in the squad… No idea. I’ll take a draw!“
And after the game, and getting his wish, Littler took to social media to share a post from BBC Sport. The Instagram post had a picture of Ruben Amorim with a post from journalist Simon Stone.
It read: “One shot away from a perfect day from Man Utd. Best performance under Amorim. Standard set away from home against England’s best team.”
The Red Devils secured a point at Anfield, and it could have been so much more when Harry Maguire spooned the ball over the crossbar in the final moments of the clash.
“I want to see my team to play so much better, but I think the most important thing to address today is the mentality,” Amorim said in his post-match press conference.
“And that is the key for everything. So today we were a different team, not because of the system, not because of the technical aspect of the game, the tactical aspect of the game, we faced the competition in the way that we’re supposed to face every day – training and match.
“It doesn’t matter the place, the opponent, we need to face every day like that.”
Liverpool’s gap at the top is now six points, but they have one game in hand over chasers Arsenal.
