Chairman of Met’s Black Police Association accused of sending ‘racist and sexist’ messages mocking girls and Asian folks, misconduct listening to informed

The Chair of the Metropolitan Black Police Association sent disgraceful racist and sexist messages mocking women and Asian people, a hearing was told yesterday.

Inspector Charles Ehikioya is accused of taking part in a What’sApp chat with another officer which included posts mocking Prince Philip’s car crash, jokes about sex with a girl with Down’s syndrome and a video suggesting Katie Price’s disabled son Harvey was on drugs.

In a chatlog of over 7,000 What’sApp messages between 2017-2020, the officer allegedly sent a large number of posts and videos that were sexist, racist, inappropriate or involved extreme violence, such as people being shot in the head.

The accused inspector, who works for the Met’s Professionalism Command, could be sacked if the allegations are proved.

But Ehikioya claims that he is the real victim, with the messages ‘fabricated or falsely attributed to him’ in a racist sting campaign because of his role within the Met’s Black Police Association, it was said.

Yesterday a Met Police misconduct hearing in London heard examples of the some messages exchanged including a ‘clearly racist’ video mocking a Korean woman pronouncing Coca-Cola and a post about a Chinese child ‘eating dog and cat and all kinds of s***’.

There were also obscene images of a man performing a sex act on a sleeping woman, pictures of a woman’s face being slapped by an erect penis and a joke about a ‘Taliban call girl’.

In one post, Ehikioya allegedly sent a picture of the late Hugh Hefner to former PC Carlo Francisco with the comment: ‘Message from the other side, Tell the Muslims there’s no 72 virgins left.’

After the late Duke of Edinburgh’s car crash in January 2019, Francisco messaged Ehikioya with a picture of the accident which had a ‘ghost image of Princess Diana’ and the caption, ‘next time you old bastard’.

Many of the highly sexual messages allegedly sent by the inspector are too offensive to print here.

In one video a child with a naked bottom was seen with a man eating crisps after they had been wiped on the child’s bottom.

James Berry, who represents the force, said the messages sent between the pair were a ‘disgrace’.

He said: ‘Some of the messages in issue in this case would rightly cause the public to be concerned as to whether the officers would be capable of impartially discharging their duties when it comes to women, given the sheer volume of derogatory and demeaning comments and imagery.’

He added: ‘Inspector Ehikioya has not denied that the content of the messages is inappropriate.

‘Rather, he denies that he sent / received them and alleges that they were somehow planted, for a racist motive.’

An investigation began after a female PCSO complained about PC Francisco in December 2020 and his phone was seized.

Francisco was later sacked and found guilty of gross misconduct in 2023 over seperate messages shared with others.

Ehikioya has previously lodged a claim against the Met claiming he is the victim of racial harassment by white colleagues.

He denies any wrongdoing.
