McDonald’s managers are facing accusations of inappropriately touching teenage staff members during shifts and “preying on young female workers.”

Clair, who is using a fake name, who worked at a West Midlands branch told the BBC that her manager would ask her for sex in exchange for extra shifts.

‘Clair’ said: “You wouldn’t expect that to happen. It was totally inappropriate.” Clair was forced to quit her job due to uncomfortable behaviour in May 2023 – she was 17 at the time and her manager was in his 30s.

‘Clair’ also claims that when she tried to raise the issue she was told to “suck it up.”

A female worker, 20, claimed that a male manager at an East of England branch sent her nude images and she had to leave her job in August last year.

Other allegations include the bullying of a currently 16 year-old employee who says they were sworn and shouted at.

All of the fresh claims are in relation to events that took place after November 2023.

Now, more that 700 current and ex-junior employees are taking legal action against McDonald’s for failing to protect them.

These allegations come a year after the fast-food chain boss, Alistair Macrow, promised to clean up the behaviour across restaurants.

In 2023 Marcrow appeared in front of parliament’s business and trade committee where he told MPS they were working on improving staff conditions after concerns on treatment were uncovered.
