WWE legend Hulk Hogan was booed by a crowd of more than 17,000 as he made his debut on the new Netflix show RAW, which also saw Home Alone star Macauley Culkin get a huge pop
WWE legend Hulk Hogan received several boos during his debut on the new Netflix show Raw.
The wrestler appeared in front of 17,000-plus fans in Los Angeles stadium for the show, but mostly to promote his beverageReal American Beer. It did not go entirely as planned, however, when Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin was met with plenty of praise from loyal onlookers, but not so much the presenters. WWE announced a huge – and expensive – multi-year partnership with Hogan’s drinks company just a day before Raw premiered. The beer logo was plastered on the ring mat during the show, and it appears fans weren’t too happy about it.
Hogan came out in front of the crowd to discuss the partnership, but the fans quickly made their opinions of him known. He was booed out of the building, with Culkin receiving the “pop of the night”.
Culkin attended the debut of Raw on Netflix tonight at the Intuit Dome, seated next to Seth Green. Before his appearance, the camera panned to Culkin with his hat tilted low and he slowly lifted it to reveal his identity.
The crowd erupted in cheers, but the presenter couldn’t help throw a jibe in. “He’s not home alone tonight,” said announcer Michael Cole before McAfee added: “Kate McCallister is the worst mom of all-time.”
Online fans were delighted with Culkin’s introduction, with some comparing Hogan’s disappointing entrance. An viewer on X wrote: “Who would’ve thought that Macaulay Culkin would be WAAAY more popular with wrestling fans than Hulk Hogan?”
Another added: “What if I told you in 1993, on Raw in 32 years Macaulay Caulkin would get one of the biggest pops of the night and Hogan would get boo’d off your TV?” A third wrote: “Macaulay Culkin legitimately got a bigger pop than anyone on the AEW roster. Someone has to say it.”
The Hulkster, now 71, tried to get his words across to the WWE audience, but they did not care to listen. He introduced Raw and his beer’s company, but he could not get his words out over the boos.
Despite being the former 12-time world champion, he was clearly taken aback by the unexpected reaction and stuttered over his words before finishing his rehearsed promo. After this, he promptly left the building.
