Booming demand for bespoke Rolls-Royce limousines has sparked a £300m expansion of its factory in West Sussex.
The car maker delivered 5,712 cars to customers in 2024 – the third highest annual sales figure on record behind 6,032 in 2023 and 6,021 in 2022.
But while deliveries were down year-on-year, a record proportion of the total were built to order, with highly-personalised vehicles selling well in excess of their base price.
The haul included a specially commissioned one-off Arcadia limousine costing £25million and believed to be the world’s most expensive car.

With more all-electric models poised to join Spectre in the Rolls-Royce line-up by 2030, the company said global sales present ‘a balanced picture’ led by North America and Europe, but with a fall in China.
Rolls-Royce said its 2024 performance was ‘in line with the marque’s forecasts and expectations’ given the introduction of a record four new models in 2024.
The company said the £300million investment at the Goodwood plant will create additional space for more bespoke models.
Rolls-Royce will also prepare the boutique factory for the marque’s transition to electric with a second EV to be launched this year.
