Dutch cyclist Puck Moonen, dubbed the ‘world’s most beautiful athlete’, showed off her engagement ring after former Red Bull star popped the question
Cyclist Puck Moonen has been dubbed the ‘world’s most beautiful athlete’ but the Dutch beauty is now off the market.
The 28-year-old gained the tag when she was hot property in the cycling world, earning a contract with professional team Lotto-Soudal Ladies. But nowadays, she’s become a cycling influencer on social media.
Moonen’s love for all things fast extends past her cycling career, with her finding love with former Red Bull F1 junior Callan O’Keeffe. The South African driver was a member of the Red Bull and Lotus F1 junior programmes but never made the step into the pinnacle of motorsports.
The couple have endured rollercoaster sporting careers but they’ve overcome challenges to find happiness with each other. In a joint post on Instagram, Moonen showed off a glittering engagement ring as the loving couple shared the happy moment.
“Yes to forever with my best friend! (ring emoji),” the caption read. “We got engaged on NYE, the day we met for the first time 2 years ago in Barcelona. And when you know, you just know”.
Moonen met O’Keeffe through dating app Raya a couple of years ago.
The cyclist previously revealed how their relationship came about in an old social media post. “A new year also means that it was exactly one year ago that the random stranger I met via a dating app flew to Barcelona to celebrate New Year’s Eve with me,” she posted on Instagram a year ago.
“He wasn’t a catfish and here we are now. I had to scroll through a lot of pretentious people (on dating app Raya, ed.), but I did find an absolute diamond.”
Moonen had split her time between cycling and studying Chemistry and Natural Sciences at her local college before joining the Lotto-Soudal team. The Dutch rider signed for Chevalmeire Cycling Team in 2020 after returning from injury but left the following year.
Moonen’s most recent public sporting appearance saw her wave home Lando Norris as she took the chequered flag duties at the 2024 Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort.
The couples’ respective career paths have played out very differently with O’Keeffe a British karting junior champion as a teenager.
The 28-year-old was signed to the Red Bull programme in 2012 but was dropped after the 2013 season. O’Keeffe then joined Lotus in 2014 but left the team’s junior programme before the 2015 season.
During that time, O’Keeffe raced in Formula Renault from 2014 before competing in the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship and select events in the 2017 British LMP3 Cup and the U.S. F2000 National Championship.
These days, O’Keeffe manages the driver development program School of Send, which he founded.
