Kyle Walker is poised to quit the Premier League and join Inter Milan on a season-long loan.
The unhappy Manchester City star, 34, is due to travel to Italy after being snapped up on a £300,000-a-week deal by the Serie A giants.
Crucially, he is taking his wife Annie Kilner and their four children after the couple have seemingly patched up their relationship after being on the verge of divorce a year ago.
England right-back Walker has been keen to leave City, despite winning six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups and the Champions League.
He was left out of yesterday’s 8-0 third round FA Cup thrashing of Salford and afterwards boss Pep Guardiola confirmed the player had informed him he wanted to leave.
Guardiola said Walker wanted to ‘explore the options to play abroad at the end of his career’ after eight years at City in which he has won 17 trophies.
A well-placed source told MailOnline: ‘The deal is virtually done, Kyle’s going to be on the plane to Italy to join Inter on loan until the end of the season.
‘The club want to bolster their defence and see Kyle as a key component. They’re prepared to pay the wages he’s on at City.

Lauryn Goodman has reportedly made a plea to her ex Kyle Walker as she plans to quit the UK with their children
‘Kyle has been keen for a move. He’s won all there is to win at City but is now looking for a fresh challenge.
‘His agent is contact with Inter and we expect everything to go through next week. Kyle is keen to start again and experience playing in a different country.
‘His wife Annie will be on the plane with him along with the kids. They’ve had well publicised struggles but are now looking to put all that behind them and start afresh in Italy.’
The source added: ‘The plan is for Annie to join Kyle in Italy. Kyle and Annie have had a terrible year.
‘She was very close to filing for divorce at the end of last year. It looks like she’s changed her mind about the divorce for the time being and she will go to Italy with Kyle and the kids.
‘With all the problems they have had with Lauryn, who knows, maybe Milan will be a fresh start for them?’
Walker is understood to have gone to see City’s director of football Txiki Begiristain on Thursday to seek an exit from the Etihad.
It is not clear whether Walker, who is contacted until the end of next season, will leave this month but City are unlikely to stand in his way should a suitable offer be received.
Kyle Walker put on a united front with his estranged wife Annie Kilner as they celebrated Christmas together with their four children
The WAG, 33, served Kyle with divorce papers in October and kicked him out of the marital home after discovering he had a second child with Lauryn Goodman
Kyle’s wife Annie Kilner has reportedly considered taking back their impending £27million divorce and has moved the footballer back into the marital home
Walker’s private life was turned upside down in December 2023 when it was revealed that he had fathered a secret daughter with reality star Lauryn Goodman.
Childhood sweetheart Annie, who started dating Kyle when she was 16, was pregnant with their fourth child at the time.
She had been planning on divorcing him but the couple put on a united front this Christmas at the family home with their four children, Roman, 13, Riaan, eight, six-year-old Reign and baby Rezon.
Annie moved the footballer back into the marital home, amid ‘second thoughts’ over the pair’s £27million divorce.
The WAG, 33, served Kyle with divorce papers in October and kicked him out of the property after she discovered he had secretly fathered a second child with his ex Lauryn.
Sources say Annie, who was pregnant with their fourth child when Lauryn dropped the bombshell, is now having second thoughts about their split and is ‘quietly working on her relationship with Kyle behind the scenes’.
The insider said: ‘The couple are committed to keeping their family as united as possible and protecting their four boys from any fallout.
‘They enjoyed Christmas together, as a family, and continue to work on their own relationship but as yet no decisions have been made.

‘They would love time and peace away from the spotlight and rumours to be able to continue working on things behind the scenes.
They added: ‘There is so much speculation and scrutiny on whether Kyle and Annie will get through this phase of their marriage but as it stands nothing much has changed since the situation blew up a year ago.’
The insider also insisted claims Annie would stay with Kyle for purely financial reasons are not true, amid links with a lucrative move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr.
It comes as Lauryn Goodman has reportedly made a plea to her ex Kyle Walker as she plans to quit the UK with their children.
The influencer, 33, is said to have asked the footballer’s permission to rent out her home while she temporarily lives abroad in Dubai with their two children, Kairo, four, and 16-month-old daughter Kinara.
Lauryn and her two children currently reside in a £2.4million Sussex mansion owned by Walker, purchased as part of her outlandish demands for child maintenance contributions.
And according to The Sun, Lauryn has contacted his lawyers to query about renting it out as she yearns for a ‘change of scenery’ after facing backlash amid their paternity scandal.
A source told the publication: ‘It’s been a turbulent time for Lauryn and she is keen to have a change of scenery, where she can focus on the children. She loves the idea of living somewhere sunny, like Dubai, temporarily.
‘Because Kyle owns the property, she has to ask his permission to rent it you. She would need to do that in order to be able to rent a property abroad.’
Walker’s achievements since his £45million move from Tottenham in 2017 include six Premier League titles and the Champions League.
He was close to leaving for Bayern Munich after the treble-winning campaign in 2023 but opted to stay at the Etihad Stadium and was later made captain.
His form since, however, has been mixed and 20-year-old Rico Lewis has been preferred at right-back at times this term. Walker has not started for City since the derby loss to Manchester United on December 15.
He currently has 93 caps for England and is desperate to reach 100 and become the first black footballer to get a century of caps.
Kyle Walker and Lauryn Goodman have been contacted for comment.
