Kirsty Gallacher has defended herself after Instagram followers slammed the star for letting her children and pet dog play on ice during a weekend walk.
The TV star, 48, shared photos of her family walk on Sunday, gushing there was ‘nothing better……Walks, kids (minus Oscar sadly) dogs & nature.’
Pictures show Kirsty’s youngest son Jude, 14, kneeling down on the ice next to the family’s pet dog.
Kirsty’s partner Darren Clayton is seen looking on from the grassy edge as another child, thought to be his seven-year-old daughter, steps onto the ice. Kirsty’s older son Oscar, 18, was not present.
Comments left on the post hit out at the former Sky Sports presenter’s actions with one asking: ‘Is that not rather dangerous crawling on frozen water?’
‘Come on Kirsty tell them not to do it,’ another agreed. ‘Every year sad people die and drown on thin ice ponds trying to get things for dogs.’

‘Absolutely gobsmacked at the lack of intelligence from very intelligent bods.’
Another said: ‘Isn’t it a tad dangerous to be walking on frozen ice?’
But Kirsty responded to each comment, insisting the frozen area was ‘very shallow, don’t worry. I wouldn’t never put an animal or person in danger.’

She told the publication: ‘We’re very happy, we both had similar stories — we are single parents and love playing golf.
‘He looks after me and tells me to have time off as I can be a workaholic.’
‘I’m usually running around like mad with the children at their sport, but my boyfriend encourages me to take a day off as I work on Saturdays doing my radio show’, she added.
The duo met in Edinburgh for a fundraising event in memory of rugby player Doddie Weir – who passed away in 2022 from Motor Neurone Disease.
Kirsty revealed in the September 2024 interview that her two sons ‘love him’ and the pair had been together for nearly a year, with Darren also a father to a daughter from a previous relationship.

Kirsty’s father was the captain of the European Ryder Cup team in the 1990s.
Previously, the media star spoke about the emotional toll her divorce had on her in 2015 after she left Paul Sampson.
The turmoil of the split led to a deep depression and her physical collapse at Sky Sports in 2016.
Kirsty revealed that in the months prior to that, she struggled to juggle her broadcasting duties, her training schedule -she was a competitor on Strictly Come Dancing in the autumn of 2015 – and being a single mum to her two boys.
