Tyson Fury and family starred in Netflix series At Home With The Furys, which premiered in 2023 and is understood to have been renewed for a second series showcasing the chaos of the day to day life the fighter, who has seemingly retired
Tyson Fury has announced that he has, yet again, retired from boxing. The Gypsy King last hung up the gloves in 2022, before coming back to sensationally fight Oleksandr Usyk in a pair of showstopping bouts.
Fury, 36, has now seemingly said he is stepping away from the sport again, delivering a cryptic message about Dick Trupin. In the post, the former champion said: “Hi everybody, I’ll make this short and sweet, I’d like to announce my retirement from boxing, I’ve loved every single minute of it. I’m going to end with this, Dick Turpin wore a mask. God bless everybody, I’ll see you on the other side.”
The Morecombe man has taken a break from the sport many times before, but if this really is to be the final time then it is fair to assume that this means he will be getting the chance to spend more time with his sizeable family, which is known for being larger than life.
They starred in Netflix series At Home With The Furys, which premiered in 2023 and is understood to have been renewed for a second series.
The show looks inside the wild, noisy life of the one of a kind family, covering everything from Tyson’s beachside running with the family dog, to the hectic goings on of everyday life. The couple have seven children: Venezuela, Prince John, Prince Tyson II, Valencia, Prince Adonis, Athena Amour and Prince Rico and have raised the family in Morecombe in Lancashire.
Off the back of the show, Fury’s oldest Venezuela stole the show and has become huge on social media.
Young love
Fury and Paris have been together for an extremely long time, since the former world champ was 17 and Paris was 15. They got married in 2008 at St Peter in Chains Catholic Church, Doncaster.
The family has had hard times. Paris and Tyson lost a child six months into pregnancy, just days before the his first fight against Usyk. However, Paris is reported to have not told him until after the fight.
Fury too has been forced over the years to spend large amounts of time away from his his kids for fights and training camps. He previously said: “The kids are used to Daddy going away. Daddy’s got to do his job and pay the bills.”
He has also been known to cut off contact with his family ahead of fights, something he did prior to his second bough with Usyk. He said at the time: “I won’t see Paris before the fight, not until after the fight. I’m fully focused and I don’t want my mind changing or taking off from where I am in fight mode and going into husband mode and all of that. In all my career of 36 fights, she’s only missed three of them.
“The first was when she was having our first child, Venezuela, on the same night as I boxed in Dublin years ago. Then there was another at The O2. And the other one was the last Usyk fight. This time, she’s coming but I won’t be seeing her, not until after the fight.”
