Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo’s Madame Tussauds waxwork is quite the handful, with staff clocking in at 5am to wipe away the lipstick marks
Cristiano Ronaldo is quite the heartthrob – and so too is his Madame Tussauds waxwork.
Ronaldo’s waxwork in the famed museum requires daily cleaning to wipe away lipstick marks left by overzealous fans. Madame Tussauds said it takes pride in ensuring waxworks were spick and span for customers.
And it involves staff rocking up at 5am for their shifts to clean the waxwork his likeness. However, Ronaldo has some competiton for kisses at the museum, sharing the top spot in the pecking order with killer John Christie.
Christie murdered eight people including his own wife, Ethel, in his London flat during the 1940s and 1950s.
A spokesman said, via The Sun: “The aim, when anything untoward is discovered, is to rectify it before visitors come in — and one regular job is to remove lipstick marks off Ronaldo.
“It’s not so surprising that he has a lot of admirers as he is very good-looking and a fantastic athlete. But it is harder to understand the amount of kisses John Christie gets.
“We’re not sure why — perhaps it’s his bald head that attracts people looking for fun photos.”
Anthony Joshua and actor Timothee Chalamet while staff routinely have to replace eyelashes stolen from members of pop band Little Mix. However, it could b worse, Drake once had his head knocked off and Harry Styles toppled over and lost an eye.
Staff even found a banana stuffed down the trousers of singer Olly Alexander.
Ronaldo, meanwhile, once had to refute claims he was obsessed with his looks: “Not really. I don’t believe I’m obsessed by looking good. I look good because I am.
“I’m joking! I think everything’s important to look good, to smell good. You know, it’s not just women.”
