A cash-strapped young mother was left speechless after a couple of self-made millionaires offered to help her fund the set up of her dream business.
Angie from Loch Lomond in Scotland, lives off just £112 a week with her two daughters, Gracie and Poppy.
She was overjoyed when offered the chance to start her own crochet business with the help of millionaires Monika and Clifford, in the latest episode of Rich House, Poor House.
Monica and Clifford, who live together on their sprawling estate in Scotland, earn a joint annual income of £3.5 million.
During the latest episode of the Channel 5 show, the wealthy couple swapped places with single-mother-of-two, Angie, with the two spending a week in each other’s homes with their drastically different weekly budgets.
While Angie and her daughters experienced a taste of extravagance, business owners Clifford and Monika got to grips with rural village life, immersing themselves in cooking and arts and craft.
Both parties we’re rewarded for the swap, with Angie left delighted at the end of the switch when the generous business owners offered to help build her a small business selling her bespoke crotchet pieces.
Angie, who juggles studying law alongside her part-time job at a call centre, said she often has wake up extremely to give herself time to study, a reality which she admitted often leaves her ‘absolutely knackered’ and wishing she had more time with the children.

Hoping to offer her and her two children the chance for some quality family time, Monika and Clifford additionally offered the time-strapped mother a free holiday, giving her the chance for some well deserved rest.
Meanwhile, the self-made millionaires learned how to have a better work-life balance, immersing themselves in community and slowing down to enjoy the little things.
An emotional Angie was left speechless when told that she would not only have the chance to make some extra cash with a a new business venture, but would also have time away with her two daughters.
At the end of the episode, the two parties exchanged what they had learned during the experience.
‘Your home is absolutely beautiful,’ Angie gushed to the couple, who smiled with pride.’
Returning the affectionate remarks, Clifford also assured Angie that he and his wife had had a ‘fabulous time’ at her home, praising her ‘beautiful community’ and close ties to neighbours.
For Angie, her most salient takeaway from the experience was that she realised she wanted more time to spend with her two children.
She reflected: ‘My biggest takeaway with my girls is that they do want me to be with them more. They don’t feel like they miss out on anything.’
The heartfelt admission offered the perfect moment for Monika to make her proposal to Angie.
After spotting her incredible crotchet talent, the business savvy couple were keen to help kickstart a business plan so should could start monetising her passion.
And that wasn’t the only offer. The wealthy couple made the generous offer of sending Angie away on holiday with her children, giving them the chance to enjoy some quality time with financial stress
‘We would like to help set up a company – handmade products – especially within Europe. They are pricy and there is big demand,’ Monika said, keen to help.
Clifford then reassured her that it wouldn’t take away from time away from her daughters.
Clifford assured her: ‘Don’t worry, it’s not going to be a case of you sitting there crocheting loads.
‘It’s going to be your patterns. We’ll find people who can do a pattern and then do it more mass produced.’
Monika insisted she had ‘several ideas’ of how to get the business up and running, leaving an elated Angie with a huge smile on her face.
After setting up the business for Angie, the pair said they would then work towards passing the business on when she was ready for it.
A flushed and excited Angie said: ‘That’s incredibly kind of you and not something I’d be able to do on my own.’
And that wasn’t the only offer. The wealthy couple made the generous offer of sending Angie away on holiday with her children, giving them the chance to enjoy some quality time without financial stress.
Monika insisted she had ‘several ideas’ of how to get the business up and running, leaving an elated Angie with a huge smile on her face
‘We would like to offer you a holiday in Spain with the girls so that you can go there and not think about anything or spending money. We will offer you the accommodation, food, drinks and everything,’ said Monika.
Barely able to contain her gratitude, Angie was seen rubbing beneath her eyes, graciously accepting the generous offer.
Clifford also revealed that the couple would be helping Angie to adopt a group of chickens – an offer close to Angie and the children’s hearts.
The family-of-three tragically lost their previous coup of chickens a few months before filming, after a fox managed to sneak in.
‘I will be coming back with a person who will help to achieve this,’ Clifford reassured her. ‘It’s going to require a bit of concrete to make sure the chickens are 100 per cent secure day and night.’
A delighted Angie thanked them again, emphasising how ‘kind’ and ‘genuine’ they were.
While grateful for the couple’s generosity, Angie hadn’t lost sight of what’s important.
‘Having this time just with my girls has really highlighted to me that I really am trying to work towards a better work-life balance.
‘My dream is to create a way of life that we don’t want to escape from,’ she concluded.
And Angie wasn’t the only one to have reaped the benefits of the experience, with Monika reflecting on the sense of ‘community’ they had gained.
Walking away from the experience – which resulted in life changing rewards for Angie – the mother-of-two described Monika and Clifford as ‘such genuine people’.
