President-elect Donald Trump, a well-known consumer of Coca-Cola products, received his very own bottle of Diet Coke on Tuesday prior to his inauguration.
The once and future president appeared in a photo with Coca-Cola Chairman and CEO James Quincey in a pair of photos shared by Deputy Director Communications Margo Martin on social media.
The grinning president-elect holds a glass bottle of Diet Coke that includes a gray, blue and red label with the words ‘Inauguration of President of the United States Donald J. Trump’ on the front as well as the date of his inauguration, January 20th, 2025.
Quincey sits next to him with a smile on his face.
The bottle was presented in a special commemorative red box with a card boasting of the $55 billion in economic activity generated by the Coca-Cola company, while supporting 860,000 jobs in the United States.
‘We’re proud to continue our decades-long tradition of celebrating the U.S. presidential inauguration with a commemorative bottle,’ the note read.
Special edition inaugural bottles of Coca-Cola are not unique to President Trump. Bottles of specially branded bottles for former President Barack Obama‘s inauguration sell for as much as $50 a bottle, according to listings on eBay.
Trump has a long history of drinking Diet Coke, even installing a special button in the White House during his first term as president that would have the beverage promptly delivered to him.

‘Everyone does get a little nervous when I press that button,’ Trump joked to guests at one point during his first term as president.
The president-elect’s addiction to Diet Coke has become legendary as people around him say they rarely see him drink anything else, even behind the scenes.
UFC CEO Dana White revealed during an interview that he’s ‘never seen Trump drink a glass of water.’
‘He’ll sit at the fights with me all night. All night, you’re talking like six hours. So, I’ll ask him, “Do you want a water?” “No, no, no.” And somebody will bring him over a Coke, and he’ll drink Coke,’ White said in a podcast interview.
PGA Golfer John Daly revealed to broadcaster Tucker Carlson that Trump drank more Diet Coke’s than he did, which at one point in his life was 20 a day.
‘My god I thought I could drink them but man he can drink them,’ Daley said during a conversation with Kid Rock and Carlson.
‘He does put them away,’ Kid Rock agreed.

A still from the documentary showing him holding a bottle of Coke quickly went viral as one MAGA supporter tweeted: ‘Trump has switched to regular coke. Full activation is imminent. This is not a drill’
Trump has also been spotted on the campaign trail in 2024 with red-label Coca-Cola regular, prompting speculation that he had switched away from the diet version he has a love-hate relationship with.
In 2012, Trump famously observed on social media that no matter how much Diet Coke, Diet Pepsi one drank, they would still gain weight.
‘I have never seen a thin person drinking Diet Coke,’ he noted.
Trump later admitted he would continue drinking the beverage, despite his reservations.
‘The Coca Cola company is not happy with me–that’s okay, I’ll still keep drinking that garbage,’ he concluded.
