I’ve been with my boyfriend 4 years and simply discovered these surprising texts in his cellphone. I’m devastated

A young woman has been left devastated after stumbling across a string of texts between her boyfriend of four years and a woman who runs a bagel shop.

The 22-year-old woman was brought to tears by the flirty exchange which began with her 25-year-old boyfriend texting the woman with ‘HEYY, it’s your delivery driver’.

The two cheekily talk about him getting a cheap haircut from the 32-year-old woman who appears to moonlight as a hairdresser.

It continues after he reveals he has a partner despite both admitting they shouldn’t be talking.

‘My girlfriend is always on my a**e,’ he said.

The bagel baker said they couldn’t do the haircut at her house because ‘then nothing would happen’ as her dad was home and ‘feeling grumpy’.

They then joked about someone needing to ‘make a move’ on delivery day one day.

‘That’s why I follow you to the basement,’ he wrote.

The delivery driver and bagel shop worker appeared to hit it off

They spoke about having a long-held attraction

And about the man having a partner

‘I was honestly hoping you would make a move, I was like I can’t do it,’ he said.

The man’s girlfriend was devastated and put the string of texts up on Reddit asking for advice.

She then said she had woken her partner up sobbing in her hands – and he had clicked that she had seen the messages even though she said nothing was wrong.

He admitted to chatting to the woman, and said he ‘didn’t actually think anything would happen’ between them – despite telling the older woman he couldn’t stop thinking about her and texting her regularly.

‘We live together. Just renewed a lease. We have three animals together,’ she cried.

‘I helped him get off cocaine. Control his anger and drinking. I helped him become a ‘good’ man. All down the drain,’ she added.

The cheating boyfriend admitted he had been flirting with another woman ‘for about a year’ as well.

He told her that ‘nothing had happened’ but he couldn’t stop thinking about being intimate with other people and thought about ‘seeing a therapist’ about it.

But the young woman said she was ‘done’ with the relationship, urged on by the support of strangers on Reddit.

They both admitted a strong attraction to each other

The man said he wanted the woman to make the first move

‘You’re being so much stronger than I think you realise,’ one woman said telling her to ‘leave with her head held high’.

‘When the time comes to move, put a chilled bubble around you that he can’t penetrate… my guess is he will pull out all the works to try to get you to stay; crying, yelling, begging, etc. Prepare yourself with a response like “I understand that this wasn’t what you wanted, but I have to do the smart thing here,” and stick to that,’ she added.

Others agreed.

‘Leave him, he will do it again,’ one woman said.

‘Leave him, the only reason he didn’t do something is because the other woman didn’t make the first move. They do that so they always have someone else to blame,’ said another.

Others had no time for either of the people involved in the messages.

‘Get them fired, they shouldn’t be acting like that in a work environment,’ one woman said.

‘People who regret something or truly feel bad don’t keep doing it for a year, they are scum,’ said another.
