Primark staff share major bugbear after viral video shows shoppers 'destroying' displays
The struggle is real

Whenever you walk into a Primark store, you can always be sure to find some poor soul who’s landed the thankless task of folding the pyjamas.

But how many times would you be able to watch halpess customers mess up the pile before you snapped? One former Primark worker admitted they lasted just three shifts before quitting.

It comes after a video went viral on TikTok appearing to show anxiety-inducing chaos at one store. The clip, uploaded by @feel.good880 and reportedly filmed in France during the Christmas rush, racked up thousands of views and comments.

Along with an unimpressed face emoji, they wrote: “Can even think how hard it was for the people working in here.”

The clip showed clothes in a mish mash strewn over displays and even on the floor. The caption on the screen read: “Just awful.”

Customers could barely make their way down the aisle between the nightmare piles.

One viewer commented: “I worked in Primark 25 + years ago and it was exactly the same then. I have no idea why they still use tables.”

Another wrote: “OMG, I’d quit. Where do you even start?”

While a third admitted: “I worked as a Christmas temp in 2021. I had a lady make eye contact with me, destroy an entire table of clothes I had been folding for two hours, smirk and walk off. I quit after three shifts.”

Others labelled the “disgraceful” scene a “jumble sale on speed”, another slammed: “Customers absolutely destroy things.”

Many said the situation forced them to quit

One added: “I’d spent whole shifts in Primark refolding the same three tables.”

Another commented: “I worked in Primark years ago and used to dread when the shop floor looked like that. Sometimes I’d hide in the toilet to avoid being the person who had to refold the clothes.”

One woman added: “But why does this only happen in Primark? Do they just put too much stock out or do customers just feel fine trashing it because it’s cheap clothes?”

One replied: “Primark’s fault. They decide to merchandise like this – pile it high on the shop floor to get max sales per meter squared. Cheaper to get us to sort it folded. And shop staff to rearrange.”

Former employee Victoria Chic said on her TikTok account that she used to find the mess frustrating.

She ranted: “Let me tell you one thing that really really bugs me at Primark.

“I used to be there for hours folding t-shirts, trousers, shorts and those little pants.
