Kyle Walker has completed a move to Serie A giants AC Milan on loan and the terms of the deal means the wantaway Manchester City star will have to impress at the San Siro
Kyle Walker has completed his loan move to AC Milan – and could make his debut against Parma in the San Siro on Sunday. The Manchester City defender has agreed a contract with Milan until 2027 that could see him make the move permanent in the summer. It’s understood Walker only agreed to join the Serie A giants if they were willing to hand him a two-year deal.
But there is no obligation for Milan to buy Walker in the summer, and he will have to impress club bosses between now and the end of this season if the deal is to become permanent. It’s understood Milan will pay all of Walker’s wages during the loan period.
Walker rejected several offers from elsewhere, including clubs in Saudi. Despite turning 35 in May, Walker still wants to be involved with England under new boss Thomas Tuchel.
The full back believes he can even be part of the squad for the next World Cup in 2026. And he is desperate to go on and win more than 100 caps for the Three Lions.
Since making his international debut in 2011, Walker has gone on to win 93 caps. He joined City from Tottenham in a £45million deal in July 2017.
In his time at the Etihad, he has won six Premier League titles, the Champions League, two FA cups, four League Cups, the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.
But at the start of this month Pep Guardiola shocked fans by revealing that the veteran star had asked if he could leave the reigning Premier League champions.
