Primark’s latest homeware drop, known for its ‘cute’ twist and wallet-friendly prices, has shoppers buzzing over the new spring-coloured extravaganza, drawing envious comparisons to luxe brand Anthropologie.

But some of Primark’s quirky new mugs are stirring up mixed reactions online. Customers have flagged a potentially glaring issue – they’re nice to look at but ‘impossible’ to drink from.

TikTok account @Mrandmrlane declared they had “found the cutest mugs in Primark.” and posted a video showing off some of the adorable designs, from cake slices to hedgehogs.

Even so, the response to the designs wasn’t all positive. One viewer quipped: “Cute, but not the most practical to drink out of.” Another complained: “I couldn’t drink a cup of tea out of these I would miss my mouth.”

A disappointed shopper said: “Gutted that the cake ones would be impossible to drink out of.” Meanwhile, one poster asked: “How do ppl drink out of these or are they decor?”, while another suggested using them as toothbrush holders.

Primark is serving up more than just mugs though; shoppers have been loving their strawberry-print ceramic fruit basket, a vibrant ramen bowl complete with chopsticks, and even a pretty-in-pink egg holder.

Elsewhere, @Louisee_martinn posted a homeware haul to TikTok asking: “Primark or Anthropologie?” which left fans gobsmacked with one saying: “Would not have thought this was Primark! “.
