Urgent recall for well-liked seasonings together with salt and pepper offered at IGA

A number of herb and spice grinders sold at IGAs have been recalled over fears they could contain ‘foreign matter’.

The products have been on the shelves of independent retailers including IGA in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, and Western Australia

Rex Imports Australia Pty Ltd is recalling six of the ‘Cape Herb and Spice Grinders’ products.

They include Sweet and Smoky BBQ seasoning, Atlantic Sea Salt, Extra Bold Peppercorn, Chilli and Garlic Seasoning, Himalayan Pink Salt, and Salt and Pepper.

Food Standards Australia New Zealand fear the products may contain plastic. 

‘Food products containing plastic may cause injury if consumed,’ the authority warned. 

‘Consumers should not eat this product.

‘Consumers should return the product(s) to the place of purchase for a full refund.
