Ex- Tottenham ace Erik Lamela has silenced his critics after he scored another wonder-goal to add to his catalogue.

The Argentinian winger is currently playing for AEK Athens. He had joined the Greek side on a free transfer from Sevilla, the club he left Tottenham for. In a match against Championship playoff rivals PAOK Thessaloniki FC, Lamela scored an incredible volley from outside the box.

The ball was floated in from a corner towards the edge of the penalty area. Positioned just outside the D, Lamela watched the ball fly perfectly towards him.

Without the ball touching the ground or any other player, the ex-Spurs player connected with it and watched it glide flawlessly into the top left-hand corner.

Fans have been going crazy over the superb finish with one writing on X: “The goal is sensational. This reminds me [of] the assist from David Beckham to Carlos in Real Madrid,” with another adding: “He is a Puskas winner so this is no surprise. But WOW what a goal.”

As many fans touched on, Lamela is already a Puskas winner. This trophy is handed to the player with the best goal of the season. Lamela’s award-winning goal came in the north London derby in 2021, a time where no fans were allowed in the stadiums.

Inside the penalty area, Lamela performed a perfect rabona which saw the ball nutmeg one Arsenal player and nestle itself into the bottom corner.
