Darts star Gerwyn Price has jokingly claimed he could knock down Jake Paul with “one punch” if the pair were ever to get in a boxing ring together
Darts star Gerwyn Price has claimed he could knock down Jake Paul with “one punch”.
The Iceman recently followed in Stephen Bunting’s footsteps and launched his own YouTube channel. And speaking to talkSPORT he was asked if he now views himself as something of an online celebrity.
“I’m definitely not an influencer,” the former doorman turned sport sensation joked. “I get bored easily, as you can see.
When I had time off at the back end of last year, I got bored. So when I’m away, I’m going to try and fill in my time and probably record a bit of the backstage stuff, behind the scenes.
“Giving a little bit back to the fans of what goes on behind the scenes because not everybody sees that, you know.”
The conversation moved on to influencer boxing, and if Price were to hit a certain number of subscribers he should challenge Jake Paul: “That’s easy. I look forward to that.
“He’s a YouTuber; he’s not a fighter, is he? I’ve got 999,000 followers to go.”
He added that his choice of location would be at home in Cardiff: “He’ll never beat me in Wales. Nobody beats me in Wales. He’d probably beat Canelo (if they fought in Mexico), but he’s not beating me, no….
“I think it would just be one punch, and it would be all over. Out cold; it would be a waste of money for people to tune in.”
In the meantime, Price will be looking for revenge in the Premier League of Darts after crashed out in the opening fixture to Chris Dobey last week. Price will now face Nathan Aspinall as the show descends on Glasgow on Thursday evening.
