Taylor Swift was jeered as she watched her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his Kansas City Chiefs get thrashed by the Philadelphia Eagles at the Super Bowl
Travis Kelce was left gutted after Super Bowl fans booed his girlfriend Taylor Swift.
The pop sensation was there to cheer on her man and his Kansas City Chiefs as they battled it out with the Philadelphia Eagles at the 2025 Super Bowl in Ceasars Superdrome, New Orleans. But when her face popped up on the jumbotron, she was met with a chorus of jeers from the Eagles’ crowd.
The harsh reaction left her baffled and turning to her mate, rapper Ice Spice, for comfort. Despite the awkwardness, Swift managed to chuckle it off, asking, “Aww what, what’s going on?” but her night got worse as the Eagles thrashed the Chiefs 40-22.
President Donald Trump couldn’t resist chiming in on social media, suggesting that Taylor had an even rougher time than Travis’ squad, who were ultimately defeated by the Eagles.
Sources close to Travis told the Daily Mail he was cut up about the incident, saying: “Travis was aware of Taylor getting booed and he felt helpless. Seeing the look on her face got to him.
“He always protects her and it broke his heart. He was already having a tough night and the fact that the stadium was predominantly Eagles fans didn’t help. Travis knows that this hurt her and anyone can see this.”
The insider claimed Eagles supporters might view Taylor as a turncoat because she hails from Pennsylvania and used to support Eagles jerseys before hooking up with Travis. It was suggested the tight end believes Trump’s swipe at the pop star was “unnecessary”, reports the Mirror.
It’s been tough times for the couple, the source noted, adding, “After Taylor being shut out for a Grammy and Travis losing the biggest game of the year it just hasn’t been a good week for them.”
Travis himself looked visibly distraught, nearly breaking down as he returned to his dressing room after the Eagles’ loss. Serena Williams, present at the event and close to Taylor, took to X to back her pal amidst the jeering. Serena tweeted out her support: “I love you @taylorswift13 dont listen to those booo!!”
NFL fans have had plenty to say about Taylor since she became an item with Kelce, particularly focusing on how she’s been in the NFL limelight more since their relationship began. Even NFL commissioner Roger Goodell addressed these murmurs before last years Super Bowl in Vegas, which saw Swift cheering on the Chiefs’ thrilling overtime triumph against the 49ers.
When confronted with the theory that Swift and Kelce’s romance could be a stunt to attract more NFL viewers, Goodell brushed off such notions: “I don’t think I’m that good (of) a scripter or anybody on our staff,” he stated. “There’s no way that I could have scripted that one.”
Goodell was all in with compliments for Swift’s amazing performance skills: “She’s a remarkable performer. She knows great entertainment. I had the opportunity to go to two of her concerts with our girls and my wife, she’s the best of the best. So, having her come to NFL games, (to) have her (be a) part of that is nothing but a positive light.”
