BREAKING Putin invitations Trump to Victory Day celebrations in Moscow after Ukraine name

Vladimir Putin has invited Trump over to Moscow ahead of their Victory Day celebrations – where they mark the triumphs of the Soviet Union.

Just one day after Trump and Putin shared a phone call over the future of the Ukraine war, Putin has extended a supposed hand of friendship to the US president. It appears the pair are solidifying their relationship. The Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, spoke out on Russian television and said: “If large countries want to share victory celebration with Russia, they will be welcomed in Moscow, this also applies to Trump.”

It is yet unclear whether other world leaders will take Putin up on his offer, and Trump has also not given official confirmation. The leaders shared a phone call on Wednesday (January 12) about the future of Ukraine.

Following the call, Trump shared an update about the conversation. He told Americans that a new time of peace could be achieved.

“We agreed to work together, very closely, including visiting each other’s Nations. We have also agreed to have our respective teams start negotiations immediately, and we will begin by calling President Zelenskyy, of Ukraine, to inform him of the conversation, something which I will be doing right now,” he shared.

Trump also said the pair discussed “Ukraine, the Middle East, Energy, Artificial Intelligence, the power of the Dollar, and various other subjects.”

News from the Oval Office suggests they “agreed to work together, very closely, including visiting each other’s Nations.” Trump’s international negotiations did not stop there, however, as he said he will now call Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky to “to inform him of the conversation,” he told the public.

Apparently, Putin seemed certain that “peaceful negotiations” on ending the war could take place. “President Putin … agreed with Trump that a long-term settlement could be reached through peaceful negotiations,” the Kremlin said in its readout of the call.

Trump did not share what was discussed with Zelensky following their call, but it is now clear the Putin is keen to meet with the president in person.
