Manchester United fans have lauded Chido Obi’s involvement against Tottenham Hotspur.

Ruben Amorim is having to contend with an injury crisis ahead of the crucial Premier League match between two teams massively underperforming this season.

Given Amad Diallo and Kobbie Mainoo added to Amorim’s injury concerns, eight youth players have been named on the bench, including 17-year-old Danish striker, and former Arsenal talent, Chido Obi.

United fans reacted to his inclusion on social media, with one user posting: “Finally Obi Chido in the match day squad. We wait and see what star boy has to deliver”. A second said: “Chido Obi about to tear it up”.

Amad joins Lisandro Martinez in potentially missing the rest of the season after the former suffered an ankle ligament injury. While Mainoo’s injury, alongside the absence of Manuel Ugarte and Toby Collyer have forced Amorim’s hand.

United are also without Mason Mount, Luke Shaw, Jonny Evans, Altay Bayindir, Tom Heaton, Leny Yoro and Christian Eriksen, with Victor Lindelof the only player on the bench to have played for the first-team before.

Amorim has also named Elyh Harrison, Harry Amass, Tyler Fredricson, Ayden Heaven, Jack Fletcher, Sekou Kone and Jack Moorhouse on the bench.
