Two UK Health Security Agency yellow cold health alerts are currently in place for the North East and Yorkshire and HUmber as snow is forecast to hit 19 cities in the UK
UK weather forecasts have unleashed a dramatic warning of a snowy onslaught expected to slam cities across the nation, covering an expanse of roughly 500 miles.
Weather predictions from WXCharts for Monday, 17 February, show a blanket of snow showering regions as far south as the Midlands and reaching up to the Scottish Highlands, with accumulations ranging between 1cm to 5cm.
The charts paint a striking picture, swathes of the country blanketed in purple and white, marking the zones poised for a snowy bombardment.
While southern parts might dodge the frosty blast, WXCharts forecasts that urban centres in the Midlands, North England, and the Scottish Highlands are set to wake up to wintry landscapes by midnight on Monday.
In total 19 major cities will see snow, the Express reports.

Currently, the UKHSA has triggered two yellow cold health warnings for the North East, and Yorkshire and Humber. These yellow alerts span from Friday, 14 February at 9pm through to Tuesday, 18 February at 9am.
Expected hill snow and icy paths could cause “minor impacts” on health and social care services, raising healthcare service usage among the vulnerable and escalating life risks for those at greater vulnerability. Although the Met Office hasn’t issued any specific weather warnings, it does highlight the chill factor in its 5-day weather forecast, cautioning Brits to prepare for an incoming spell of cold weather conditions.
