Keiji Muto has battled with many iconic names, from Hulk Hogan and Sting to Hiroshi Hase and Mashairo Chono, but his newest rival appears to be good ol’ Wetherspoons
Wrestling legend Keiji Muto has been spotted in a Wetherspoons – and didn’t rate the food very much. Manchester was flooded with icons of the grappling world over the weekend as Europe’s biggest wrestling convention – For The Love of Wrestling – took over.
And this led to some legends being spotted in unusual places . . . like a good old ‘Spoons. For many, the name the Great Muta, which is the famous gimmick of Muto, brings up memories of legendary battles with the likes of WCW icon Sting, WWE legend Hulk Hogan and Japanese greats like Hiroshi Hase and Masahiro Chono.
But now the 62-year-old has a new rival in the form of Wetherspoon.
The legend took to social media yesterday to post a picture of himself in, what he calls a “sports bar” with a big Wetherspoons logo behind him.
Exactly which branch it was is unclear, but he said: “Tonight, a small celebration at a sports bar in England! Ordered katsu curry and ramen. So, how will it taste…???”
Well, dear reader, it quickly emerged that Muto was less than pleased the fare provided by the branch and posted less than one hour later: “The katsu curry was so-so, but…The ramen, what is this〜〜!!!!”
It’s fair to say that the word missing was not a pleasant one, given the image he posted of himself looking disgusted with the bowl of less-than-impressive looking ramen noodles and unidentifiable vegetables.
It didn’t take long for fans to react, as one raged: “Muto who took you to Wetherspoons? I want names!” And another said: “Whoever took Muta out for Spoons committed a crime We want him to come back not be put off forever.”
A third commented: “What the hell is Wetherspoons ramen and why is Mutoh eating it.”
Muta, known for spitting green mist at his opponents, is probably not going to be frequenting a Wetherspoons again anytime soon…
