Former Scotland captain Stuart Hogg has welcomed his first child with his girlfriend Leonna Mayor – just weeks after he avoided a jail sentence for domestic abuse
Ex-Scotland rugby skipper Stuart Hogg has become a dad again, celebrating the arrival of a baby boy with his partner Leonna Mayor, just six weeks after avoiding jail for abusing his wife.
Last year, the Montpellier ace pleaded guilty to a single count of domestic abuse against his now-estranged wife Gillian, following a five-year campaign of terror.
Hogg yelled and cursed at her, accusing her of “not being fun”, tracking her whereabouts, and inundating her with “alarming and distressing” messages.
In January, Hogg was handed a community payback order with one year of supervision and a second five-year non-harassment order, on top of an existing ban from approaching or contacting his wife for five years due to breaching bail conditions.
The 32-year-old split from Gillian in 2023, leaving her devastated and went public with TV presenter and former jockey Mayor shortly after his wife delivered their fourth child.
Now, Hogg and Mayor have welcomed their first child into the world earlier this month.
Mayor, who was once hailed as “the world’s sexiest jockey”, shared a snap of the tiny tot – named Teddy – confirming both mum and baby are doing well and expressing gratitude for the outpouring of love from fans.
“So that was a BIG week,” she penned. “One that presented us with our little man Teddy John Hogg. A beautiful perfect bundle on 12/2/2025 at just 4lb 6oz,” reports Wales Online.
“I’ve been in a baby bubble for a week and we’ve been closely monitored and wonderfully cared for by the midwives here at Saint Roch hospital. He’s feeding like a trooper and was allowed home on Wednesday.
“Thank you for all your love and support as always and for the friends and family who have already wished us well, checked in on us and sent their congratulations.
“We truly appreciate it.
“Apologies for the incoming baby spam, it’s going to be constant FYI. AND HOW DID I NOT KNOW HOW UNBELIEVABLE IT IS TO HAVE A BABY.”
Hogg’s new baby comes after widespread calls for him to lose his MBE, which he was awarded in the 2024 New Year Honours.
Stephen Flynn, the SNP Commons group leader, disclosed on X: “The state honour that follows his name must be rescinded. Having raised it in the Commons, and with the relevant committee, it’s been confirmed that the matter is being formally reviewed.”
