Kimberly Burch, the fiancee of Faster Pussycat frontman Taime Downe, has died after falling overboard from a cruise ship on the first night of a Royal Caribbean 80s Cruise
The fiancée of rock band Faster Pussycat’s lead singer has died tragically at sea after falling overboard on a cruise ship.
Lead singer Taime Downe and his long-term partner Kimberly Burch, were celebrating on The 80s Cruise aboard Royal Caribbean’s Explorer of the Seas when Burch took a fatal plunge on March 2.
Despite extensive search and rescue efforts, her body remains missing.
A spokesperson for Royal Caribbean Group told Mail Online: “Our crew immediately launched a search and rescue effort, is working with local authorities, and we are providing support and assistance to the guest’s family during this difficult time. To respect the privacy of our guest’s family, we have no additional details to share.”
The 56-year-old real estate agent had been in a relationship with the 60-year-old musician for around six years and was set to see him perform on the cruise that departed from Miami with stops including Nassau, San Juan, and Labadee.
Just hours before her untimely death, Burch shared a social media post alongside Downe, captioning it: “We made it to @the80scruise.”
Carnell Burch, Kimberly’s mother, confirmed the devastating news to TMZ, after Downe had called her to report the tragic event. Further details were provided by A U.S. Coast Guard spokesperson told the publication the incident happened around 20 miles away from Freeport, Bahamas.
Burch is reported to have tragically fallen overboard on the first day of the cruise.
A fellow passenger took to X, posting: “Currently on the #RCL Explorer of the Seas for the #80scruise. Unfortunately, we have a ‘woman overboard’ situation and boats have been deployed. We are currently 80+ miles from Miami at 11pm PST. Not good.”
Following the tragic news, fans flooded social media with heartfelt messages of condolence.
Among them was Disturbed frontman David Draiman, who penned: “Omg… I’m SO sorry for your loss brother. #TaimeDowne #KimberlyBurch”
Just a fortnight ago, Downe had referred to himself as a “lucky man” in a heartfelt Valentine’s Day Instagram post, captioning it: “I had a beautiful #valentinesday with my love and better half @burchkimberly. We ate candy and cupcakes.. I’m a lucky man!”
