As more than half of parents long for a return to their clubbing days, the top tunes that get the nation dancing have been revealed
Parents are pining for their pre-kid clubbing days, a report has shown, with 60% admitting they miss the late-night dance floor action.
In an attempt to relive their youth, nostalgic parents are spinning old skool classics for their kids and even transforming their kitchens into makeshift clubs.
The report found that a whopping 67% of parents have been busting moves on the kitchen tiles with their little ones. It also showed that 73% of families say they have the most fun when they’re tearing up the dance floor together.
But it’s not just at home where parents are getting their groove on. There’s been a surge in demand for daytime clubbing events and family raves, with searches skyrocketing by a massive 53% since 2023.

According to the report, the music that parents are missing the most spans almost six decades but topping the charts was the 1992 banger Rhythm is a Dancer by SNAP!, which featured on 28% of voters’ lists.
Hot on its heels was ABBA’s 1976 classic Dancing Queen, bagging 27% of the votes. DJ duo Daft Punk scored two spots in the top 10, with One More Time landing in 6th place and Get Lucky in 8th.
The study was carried out by Holiday Villages, TUI’s popular family hotel brand, as part of its summer entertainment revamp.
In celebration, Holiday Village Ibiza has declared the final weekend of July as the official Ibiza family opening weekender, featuring a special guest DJ act headlining the new Ibiza Sunsets night on 26th July.
Half Punk, a duo of pre-teens will take to the stage as the world’s latest tribute act, with their setlist comprising the top 20 family floor fillers as voted for by Brits.
“We’ve completely overhauled our entertainment programme this summer,” announced Natalie Johnson, concept manager for Holiday Villages.
She revealed that customer research shows a preference for high-energy themed nights, which they plan to deliver through their Ibiza Sunsets and Neon Nights events.
“They will have a pumped-up vibe, with vibrant staging and lighting, face paints, lots of neon and feature DJ sets, live performances and dance floor action at their heart,” Natalie added.
“And we’ve got something for ravers of all ages with a new Little Ravers event at Holiday Villages’ creches.”
