Elon Musk’s X (formerly Twitter) has suffered another outage today, just hours after going offline earlier today — here’s all we know about the outage so far as we await service updates
X, formerly known as Twitter, saw an outage earlier on today, but it appears that the social network has gone down again — prompting fears there’s a larger issue at play. At the time of writing, X is coming back online for some users.
According to downforeveryoneorjustme, issues with the network (owned by Elon Musk) began at around 9 AM, and complaints have been picking up again in the last hour of so as well.
The site’s history of issues with X/Twitter suggests fixes usually occur within the hour, so we’ll be sure to keep this page updated as we go. For now, though, it appears whatever issue was causing the outage has been fixed.
X goes down twice in one day
Twitter was purchased by Elon Musk for $44 billion in October 2022, and the site was rebranded to ‘X’ in July 2023, retiring the bird logo in the process.
The network has been accused of spreading misinformation, leading to Bluesky users (the network created by the former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey) to chime in on the outage.
“Karma is a b****,” one user wrote, while another dubbed it “a Nazi platform” when news of the outage broke.
A woman on Facebook posted: “Twitter down. Now I gotta get my smut talk done on here.”
