A grandmother married to a Tunisian toy boy 30 years her junior says she needs a hip replacement – but it doesn’t stop them bonking six times a week. Christine Haycox, 74 and hubby Hamza Dridi, 40, have defied critics who said he just “wanted money or a visa” by recently celebrating their fourth wedding anniversary.

And seven years into their relationship Christine – who previously told how they made love up to six times a week –says their sex life is as good as it ever was despite her dodgy hip.

Gran-of-two Christine said: “He’s a hot-blooded Tunisian – we have sex more than most. I need a replacement hip, but other than that my age doesn’t hold me back in the bedroom.”

The author, from Leeds, West Yorkshire, met Hamza online in 2018 while teaching him English online. After a whirlwind romance, she flew to visit him in his homeland six weeks later and never left.

Despite initial skepticism from pals, who warned her that he was only doing it for a visa, the couple have been together for seven years and married for four.

Christine, a mum-of-two, said: “It was definitely love at first sight. There was an instant spark between us.

“We went for walks along the beach and he took me out for lovely dinners. He even took me to a discotheque, and we went dancing. I haven’t got a single regret. We are both just sorry we didn’t meet sooner so that we could have our own children. But we share a dog together instead.”

The couple tied the knot in December 2020 at their Tunisian home and Christine converted to Islam in 2021.

During the ceremony, Christine wore a traditional Tunisian dress, and Hamza’s second cousin, Miriam, 17, did her hair, manicure and pedicure for the big day.

Chrstine’s son – who is four years older than her spouse – even travelled to Tunisia in 2020 to spend four days with the happy couple a year after their wedding. And despite the large age gap, her family have been supportive.

She added: “They can see how happy I am. My friends have been amazing. Hamza speaks to my friends all the time, so they can see how good we are together.

“Hamza and I have our own home together and I’ve never been happier.”

But the couple have faced a backlash, with hateful comments online with trolls saying he just wants her money or a visa. And a restaurant owner in Tunisia once rudely asked Hamza: “How do you have sex with that old woman?”

However, the couple insist they are rock solid. Hamza said: “Christine is a lovely wife. She is my queen. I love her personality and her intelligence.”
