Dave Chisnall gave a hilarious response as he admitted he should have beaten Luke Littler in the Belgian Darts Open.

The World No.9 was looking to get back to form on the PDC European Tour events after winning two titles last year. However, the first event of 2025 in Belgium saw Littler reign supreme, beating Chisnall in the quarter-final.

Littler wrapped up a stunning week as his triumph in Belgium followed just days after he won the Premier League night in Brighton and a week after he lifted the UK Open. But ‘The Nuke’s’ dominance could have been ended by Chizzy in the quarter-final.

Chisnall told Community Kwiff about his match-up with Littler where he squandered a 4-2 lead to lose 6-4.

Giving a hilarious response to looking back on the potential outcome of their result, Chizzy said: “That boy Luke Littler can chuck. I’ve been saying it for over a year – you don’t need me to tell you how good he is.

“I should have beaten him in Belgium – I was 4-2 up and should have put him away. The ‘Big Fish’ he took out really got him going, and he reeled off (no pun intended) four legs on the spin to win 6-4.

“It was both good and bad I suppose, with that sort of form and performance showing that it’s still there, despite the disappointment of the result.

“If I had beaten Luke, I think I would have gone on to lift the trophy.. But if my aunty had b****** she would be my uncle so ifs don’t mean anything in this game.”

Chisnall had beaten Ricardo Pietreczko 6-3 and Ritchie Edhouse 6-5 to set up the quarter-final tie against ‘The Nuke’. Having led 4-2, Littler reeled off four straight legs to make Chisnall’s low scoring pay.

Despite being four out of five on his doubles, Chizzy managed just a 91.27 average to Littler’s 103.91 average as the world champ powered his way to victory. Littler went on to beat James Wade in the semi-final before winning the title against Mike De Decker.
