Beardmore’s now behind bars for a year, and Prosecutor David Bennett told how he kicked off on the night of October 12 and into the into the early hours of October 13 in Milton, reports Stoke on Trent Live.
His mum had become homeless and she and the defendant were living at his partner’s house in Milton. While at the address, the defendant and his mother smoked monkey dust.
All three then arrived at a Stoke rave at midnight and Beardmore became jealous when his partner spoke to a couple of men. Mr Bennett said: “The defendant became angry. He became involved in a verbal altercation with another man and had to be separated by security staff.”

Mr Bennett said: “The defendant threw her phone charger out the window and took possession of the cigarettes and her phone and sat on it, preventing her from getting to it.
“The complainant sounded her horn. The defendant’s mother retrieved her charger. She tried to drive off but was blocked in by a police vehicle. The defendant gave false details.
“The complainant explained that the defendant had her house keys. She told police she did not want him in the car. The complainant drove off with the defendant’s mother. She forced her to pull over.
“The complainant dropped off the defendant’s mother at another address. The defendant and his mum engaged in drug taking. The complainant told the defendant she wanted to leave and the three left at 3am in the car. The defendant bent the ignition key. The complainant managed to get it straight.
“He became angry. He pulled the handbrake, causing it to stop in the middle of the road. The complainant threw some of his drugs out the window. He seemed to lose all control. He said, ‘You can bin bag the baby. I hope you both die’. He called her a slag.
“The complainant began sounding her horn to attract attention. He punched her three times to her face and lip. She punched him in self-defence. He punched her a further two times to the face.
“She was crying and he was apologetic to her. She told him the relationship was over and to get out of the car. He picked up a handlebar and used it to smash the complainant’s car. She asked him to stop.
“The police arrived at 6.15am. He told her he was going to slit her throat if she told the police and spat in her face. She was too scared to drive off. He refused to get out of the car. She began sounding her horn. Police approached the car. She said the defendant had assaulted her and gave his correct details.
“They tried to arrest him but he jumped into the rear of the car and refused to leave. He was eventually subdued.”
In a victim statement, the woman expressed her desire never to see Beardmore again and her wish to move forward with her life. She stated: “I feel a shadow of the person I used to be.”
Beardmore, hailing from Berdmore Street, Fenton, admitted to charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, criminal damage, witness intimidation, and obstructing a police officer.
