Manchester United youngster Ayden Heaven has provided an update on his recovery after being taken off on a stretcher during Sunday’s 3-0 win over Leicester.
The clash at the King Power was Heaven’s first Premier League start for Manchester United, but it ended abruptly after the 18-year-old defender was involved in a tangle of legs with Foxes striker Patson Daka.
Sky Sports refused to replay the incident as Heaven rolled around in some pain, before eventually being taken off by the club’s medical team after receiving treatment.
Heaven, who joined the club from Arsenal in a deal worth £1million in January, has now delivered a positive update on social media in terms of his injury, thanking fans for their messages of support.
‘Thank you guys for all the support! I have read all your messages and I’m doing really well and recovering fast,’ the centre-back posted on an Instagram story.
Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim heaped praise on the youngster after the match, admitting his recovery is something the club will have to ‘evaluate’ during the international break.

‘It’s hard to know because we have to evaluate during the week,’ the Portuguese boss said in a post-match interview with Sky Sports. ‘He already played well against Arsenal and Real Sociedad.
‘Today for me was the most difficult game for him because we expect him to relax a bit, but he was so focused. It was clear today my players are at the limit. We are going to use this window to rest and recover, it will be good.
‘The feeling is completely different. When we return it will be like starting from scratch.’
So far, during impressive displays against Arsenal, Real Sociedad and the initial stages of Manchester United’s match at Leicester, Heaven has shown he is well-suited to Amorim’s system and formation, as part of a three-man central defence.
After United’s 4-1 win over Real Sociedad, Amorim said of Heaven: ‘I like his pace, I think he is good in defending the box and I think he is quite complete. But he has a lot of work to do in the Premier League,’ he said.
‘We will face a different kind of player and he will be tested in a different kind of way, so we are trying to manage all of this because he is still really young.’
