A schoolboy is fighting for his life in hospital after being stabbed in broad daylight at a park in Birmingham.
Police were called to Turnberry Park in Great Barr, Birmingham, just after 4pm on Monday and found a 15-year-old boy with serious injuries.
He was rushed to hospital by emergency services and remains there now as he a fights to stay alive.
The park has be cordoned off and pictures taken at the scene show officers searching the park with torches.
A spokesperson for West Midland Police said: ‘We will have officers patrolling in the area tonight to offer reassurance to the community.’
‘We were called to Turnberry Park, off Turnberry Road, Great Barr, shortly after 4pm today (Mon) after a 15-year-old boy was stabbed.
‘He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital with serious injuries.
‘We are in the early stages of our investigation and would urge witnesses or people with information to contact us via Live Chat on our website or by calling 101 quoting log number 3629 of 17 March.

A member of the Friends of Turnberry Park group said: ‘We are deeply concerned about the incident that took place in the park today.
‘We have been speaking with sports organisations about bringing activities to the park, as we believe positive community engagement can help create a safer environment.
‘We will continue exploring ways to improve safety in the park.’
