Vladimir Putin is ‘laughing his backside off’ after securing a ‘blank cheque’ peace deal with Donald Trump following their peace talks phone call, one expert has claimed
Vladimir Putin is reportedly “laughing his backside off” at Donald Trump, having clinched a “game, set and match” victory with his “blank cheque peace deal”, according to one analyst. Despite Putin’s promise to cease targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, Trump’s attempt to end the conflict through a lengthy phone call fell short.
Trump and Ukraine had hoped for a 30-day complete ceasefire, but instead handed Putin a “blank cheque” that essentially serves up everything the Russian leader desired on a platter.
Defence and security expert Anthony Glees described Putin as overjoyed and cackling after outmanoeuvring the man who claims to be the “best deal-maker in the world“.
Speaking to the Mirror, he said: “The 90 minute ‘conversation’ with Trump was game, set and match evil Putin. No wonder he was smirking on Russian TV yesterday evening. To mix metaphors poker-playing Putin is laughing his backside off at golfer Trump.”
Trump’s presidency began with a commitment to withdraw America from its role as global enforcer and reduce its foreign engagements. However, he has instead caused turmoil in Ukraine, and now appears as a “total failure” for not leveraging his audacious plans.
Professor Glees further commented: “What I would say is that the phone-call fiasco yesterday not only weakens Trump, but it also puts Starmer and the European Coalition of the Willing, that the UK is leading, on the spot.”
Trump might be blissfully ignorant of the serious concessions he is handing over to the Kremlin, according to Professor Glees. He is apparently ready to serve up everything on Putin’s wish list – from Ukrainian sovereignty and its NATO ambitions to halting US attempts to rescue Ukrainian kids nicked by Russia, which could smack of cultural genocide.
After the dust settles, Putin’s likely to come back for his trophy, courtesy of Trump, and maybe even eye up a few extra countries while he’s at it.
Professor Glees remarked: “That’s a blanket cheque for Putin not only to take the rump of Ukraine as soon as he hopes everyone will have forgotten about it but to begin to subvert and destabilise all the post-1997 NATO members that border his marauding state. Trump has restored Putin to the world stage, no longer the pariah he deserves to be but Trump’s equal.”
And in true Trump fashion, it seems cash is king. He’s chuffed with Putin’s vow of “enormous economic deals with Russia in the future”.
Professor Glees scoffed: “Oh, how the Kremlin will have giggled at that one!”
Trump’s massive ego is just the weak spot Putin needs to manipulate him, making him “vulnerable to his wiles”, and now Putin can just kick back and wait because “time is on his side”, the professor summed up.
