Comedian Bill Burr has taken aim at Elon Musk, as he revealed why he believes ‘nerds’ are building artificial intelligence robots and rockets.
Burr appeared on The View Thursday morning to promote his new standup special on Hulu and his debut on Broadway in Glengarry Glen Ross, when co-host Joy Behar asked him whether there is ‘anybody getting your ire up these days more than usual.’
‘The nerds,’ the comedian replied. ‘The nerds that own the politicians. All these tech nerds that want to build robots because they don’t know how to talk to hot women.
‘They’re going to take over the world,’ he claimed. ‘They are literally going to replace us. We’re like Beta right now and they’re coming out with the VCR.’
The comedian then took specific aim at ‘First Buddy’ Musk, saying his thinks ‘Elon has got the rockets going because they realize they’re going to trash this one. Because they don’t have any concern for it.
‘And I think Elon has got the rockets going because they realize there’s other Earths out there and they’re going to trash this one. Because they don’t have any concern for it.’
‘And they’re going to move onto the next Earth and you know everybody’s going to be standing down here in their blue and red ties going, “Wait a minute, I was on your side.” And they’re just going to leave.’
His comments on the show left many outraged – with several conservatives claiming the comedian has gotten away from his base.

‘Imagine if someone told you 10 years ago that Bill Burr would appear on The View and instead of roasting them hilariously to their faces he would spend the whole time politically agreeing with them,’ commentator Matt Walsh posted on X.
‘What a tragic fall from grace. Bill Burr is a pathetic broken shell of a man.’
Greg Price, a former Trump campaign staffer, added that the comedian ‘has fully morphed into the type of person he built his career mocking,’ and comedian Rob Schneider said simply, ‘Bill Burr is no longer Bill Burr.’
Canadian Professor Gad Saad also pointed out all of the technology that Musk is working on to help those with disabilities.
‘Dear Bill Burr, I hear that Elon Musk is working on restoring mobility to disabled patients and restoring sight to blind people via his work with Neuralink,’ he wrote.
‘Is there a way that you can appear on one of the late night shows to explain to the Great Unwashed how this is part of his Nazi takeover? Thank you.’
The professor was apparently referring to other comments Burr has made in recent weeks on other shows.
On Tuesday, he appeared on The Tonight Show, when he suggested that ‘billionaires are not happy having a billion dollars.’
Burr said Musk has ‘the rockets going because’ he realizes the billionaires are ‘going to trash this one,’ comments which received a lot of backlash

‘Why does Elon Musk dress like he just got out of a Hot Topic?’ Burr asked Jimmy Fallon, rhetorically.
‘I am so sick of that guy trying to rewrite his origin story like he was Matthew McConaughey pulling into the high school,’ he said.
Then on Friday, Burr said in an interview on The Breakfast Club radio show that he couldn’t believe Musk hasn’t been ‘canceled’ following his controversial hand gesture at the inauguration that was likened to a Nazi salute.
He argued that it’s a ‘common sense comment that we shouldn’t have a Nazi,’ then went on to torch Musk for his efforts with the Department of Government Efficiency – arguing that the federal government has worked for him as he became a billionaire.
‘I don’t understand why they’re so upset with this country,’ he said of the billionaire tech bros, according to the Daily Beast. ‘You’re billionaires, I think it’s working for you.’
At the same time, Burr called out democrats in an interview with NPR last week that ‘liberals have no teeth whatsoever.’
Burr has previously torched Musk for his efforts with President Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency
When asked for comment about Burr’s remarks on Thursday, a spokesperson for the DOGE chief pointed Fox News to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt’s interview on Fox News’ Faulkner Focus earlier that day.
‘Their hatred for Donald Trump fuels everything that they do and it’s the only reason for the Democrat Party today,’ Leavitt told Harris Faulkner.
‘And it’s unfortunate for the American public and for Democrat voters who are looking to their party for real leadership, well they should become Republicans.
‘Because if you look at what President Trump and Elon Musk are doing, we’re making this government more efficient, we are being more accountable to the American taxpayer, we are securing our southern border, producing law and order in this country, securing our homeland.
‘These are basic common sense principals,’ she argued.
‘The Democrat Party is the party of crazy. The Republican Party, thanks to Trump is the party of common sense.’
