Former Sky Sports presenter Richard Keys once ogled a group of women wearing football shirts live on TV.

The disgraced host resigned from Sky when the anchor was left at the centre of a sexism storm, alongside Andy Gray. The pair were two of the most recognisable voices on Sky at the dawn of the Premier League.

But their careers came crashing down in 2011 after making sexist remarks towards female assistant referee Sian Massey-Ellis. However, it wasn’t the first time that Keys had shamelessly commented on women’s appearances at a football game.

A clip has resurfaced on social media showing Keys and former Chelsea and Aston Villa midfielder Andy Townsend in the Sky studio covering a game at the Riverside Stadium, as the camera cut away to five women wearing a concept Middlesbrough away kit.

The women lined up on the pitch, each wearing a different design, as the Sky camera panned past them. Keys began narrating the coverage but immediately said the wrong team.

Seemingly a little flustered and hot under the collar, Keys accidentally said Southampton instead of Middlesbrough, before addressing his mistake.

He continued: “I like this first one,” before he let out a laugh and added: “It’s very nice isn’t it,” as the camera focused on the woman’s chest.

Keys then continued to let out a laugh before putting Townsend on the spot, asking: “Which ones your favourite Andy?” Former Republic of Ireland star Townsend replied: “Good grief, what the kit are we talking about?”

The two continued laughing before Townsend revealed he wasn’t a fan of the purple designs, which prompted Keys to join in, saying: “I think we need another look, later… closer.”

Since leaving Sky, Keys has anchored beIN Sports coverage of the Premier League and notably become embroiled in a feud with Liverpool legend turned Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher.

Keys revived their feud last year by claiming Carragher’s infamous spitting scandal was worse than his actions that led to his Sky exit.

Keys said: “If it’s okay to spit on teenagers and continue to be employed then great,” before adding: “For me that was far more a serious offence – but I’m not making the judgement on that!”

He also took a jab at his departure from Sky, saying: “I was pleased he [Carragher] didn’t [get sacked] as it gave me the opportunity to say to you guys, when you consider what happened to us, for the ‘crimes’ we were accused of (and accept) and what he did on film… there’s no comparison.”
