The backstory for the mysterious El Grande Americano was revealed during Monday’s episode of WWE RAW , in a video that some fans are criticising due to its alleged AI construction
WWE fans have been left in shock by Monday’s episode of WWE RAW, as they adopted Trump’s Gulf of America and used “AI for an entire video.”
In a jaw-dropping video, the backstory of lucha libre sensation Americano is revealed, claiming he rose from the “Gulf of America” to dominate the wrestling world, only to be sabotaged and erased by jealous rivals. .
Donald Trump sparked controversy by proposing to rename the Gulf of Mexico as the “Gulf of America.” The move, which seemed aimed at emphasizing U.S. dominance in the region, faced backlash from many, including critics who argued it disrespects the region’s historical and cultural significance.
One fan wrote on X: “No way WWE said Gulf of America” followed by crying face emojis. Another simply wrote: “Gulf of Mexico not America.”
Some social media fans were more upbeat about the reference. One wrote: “The Gulf of America reference is the greatest thing to happen in wrestling in over twenty years.”
However, fans were also unhappy with another aspect of the video.
They quickly slammed it for looking like it was created by AI, blasting the company for relying on tech and begging them to stick to real content in the future.
One quoted the WWE video with “Billion dollar company using AI for an entire video. Bleak stuff.”
Another furious fan wrote: “I hope the use of AI is only to make this look fake, if this is something legit going forward it’s a big issue.”
El Grande Americano, who hasn’t been confirmed to be Chad Gable, but everyone is 99 per cent sure he is, also took part in a match against Dragon Lee. Americano won the match after unmasking Lee, the ultimate sign of disrespect in lucha libre. Lee was so concerned about covering his face that he got struck with an ankle lock, one of Gable’s signature moves.
Many fans now think the only way to expose Gable as El Grande Americano is through a Mask vs. Mask match at WrestleMania 41.
Donald Trump has had a long history with WWE before he was President, appearing as both a celebrity guest and a major storyline figure. He was involved in the famous “Battle of the Billionaires” at WrestleMania 23, where he faced off against Vince McMahon.
