A former WWE star has announced she is leaving a rival wrestling promotion as a fan begs Triple H to bring her back to the company. Brit Saraya-Jade Bevis shocked fans when she announced she will not be returning to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in the first episode of her podcast.

The 32-year-old performer holds the record as the youngest female champion in the WWE, where she used the name Paige. After a serious neck injury in 2016 followed up by another in 2017, Paige was forced into retirement.

After the Norwich-native’s contact ran out with WWE, she signed with AEW in July 2022 where she went on to win the Women’s World title in London. Now she has decided to part ways with the promotion and insisted there was “no bad blood”.

The performer, who used her first name Saraya when wresting for AEW, said: “I’m here to tell you that me and AEW’s relationship has come to an end. I had an amazing time there. There’s no bad blood between us. I had such a magical time.”

The fan-favourite wrestler explained she took a couple of weeks off to spend time with her family and came to the conclusion that there wasn’t anything left for her to do. She said: And then I got to thinking – what is there left for me to do in wrestling right now?

“Right now, there’s really no storylines where I would fit in.” She also made clear her decision has “nothing to do” with AEW founder Tony Khan.

She said: “It’s just me thinking that I just don’t fit in right now. I feel like I might be taking someone else’s spot, someone who could be doing something really special.”

However, Saraya left the door open for a return. “That’s not to say I will never come back to AEW – I absolutely love it,” she said.

“But I’m taking a little step back and focusing on myself for a bit, and putting my energy into the podcast with all the crew here. What a wonderful crew I have here.”

“Thank you, AEW. Thank you to the AEW fans – I loved my f***ing time there,” she says. “Tony’s f***ing awesome. And anyone that goes to work there will just enjoy their time. It’s just great.

“And I’ll miss the girls’ locker room. I’ll miss you, but don’t be a f***ing stranger! You know where I am. I see some of you outside the company anyway.”

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Saraya said: It’s mutual! But I loved my time at AEW and I had such a blast with the girls there. It’ll hold a special place in my heart.
