Lando Norris reveals astonishing takeaway order as McLaren star presents uncommon glimpse into food regimen of Formula One drivers

Being a Formula One driver is one of the most intense jobs in the entirety of professional sport, never mind as a standalone occupation.

The G-force of an F1 car when it is turning is approximately 6-6.5G, which is a high enough figure to endure for one corner, let alone an entire Grand Prix weekend over a gruelling eight-month calendar.

As a result, F1 drivers have to be in peak physical condition to ensure they can perform at a high enough level.

This means they have to eat high quantities of food to supplement their intense training schedules and stints behind the wheel on-track.

Such an example was demonstrated in an old clip of McLaren driver Lando Norris, where he could be seen devouring an enormous amount of takeaway food.

A clip from Twitch streamer Max Fewtrell – who previously raced in Formula 4 and F3 before moving into gaming – saw him tuck into a popular foodstuff with Norris.

In the video, Lando can be seen tucking into spring rolls, before being asked by Max how many he had eaten.

After commenting that he had eaten three, Max counts the rest of the spring rolls ordered by the McLaren star, which ended up coming to 17 in total.

This caused Max to remark in horror: ‘You ordered 17 spring rolls? Is that f***ing normal?’

Norris then nods in answer to the question, while simply confessing: ‘I like spring rolls’.

In an article published by McLaren’s rivals Red Bull in April 2024, the Milton-Keynes based outfit revealed what an F1 typically eats in a day.

According to a post on the team’s website, breakfast consists of porridge with berries, banana, nuts and honey.

For lunch, drivers can usually be expected to begin with a healthy salad, followed by chicken breast, vegetables and a sauce of their choice and some fruit for dessert.

Moving on to their final meal of the day, they were said to often eat tomato soup followed by grilled fish, sweet potato and salad with yoghurt for dessert.

One star on the current grid also has plans of his own to open a restaurant, given his keen interest in gastronomy.

Yuki Tsunoda previously revealed to ESPN that he one day has plans to open his own fusion restaurant combining Japanese cuisine with foods he has consumed while travelling to races around the globe.

He also expressed a love for Italy, stating: ‘I like how they are passionate about food in Italy’.

‘I like their starters, and obviously pasta and pizza with something on it.’
