Outraged girl, 106, reveals insult airport safety hurls at her twice a yr

A 106-year-old woman has aired her grievances with flying after she repeatedly received the same poor treatment from airport security.

Cretora Biggerstaff, a Texas woman who flies to Florida twice a year, revealed that she’s consistently prompted to prove her age when she flies – and she’s getting sick of it.

She explained that whenever she flies, she thinks airport security believes she’s ‘some stupid old lady.’

‘If I could get the airlines to realize I’m not some stupid old lady, and that’s what they think I am, that I don’t know if I’m coming or going,’ Biggerstaff told local Fox affiliate, KRIV-TV

She added that there is a misconception about people over a certain age, but Biggerstaff said that just because she’s 106 doesn’t mean that she’s ‘in a wheelchair drooling.’

Biggerstaff runs into the annoying issue whenever she flies with her daughter and shows her Texas ID to security.

She explained to KRIV that she had to field questions about her age and prove that the number on her ID was correct.

Biggerstaff speculated that the security system doesn’t recognize ages over 100.

In response to her repeated troubles with the Transportation Security Administration, Biggerstaff enlisted a friend to help her write letters to the Department of Transportation and the CEO’s of United and Delta Airlines.

Biggerstaff’s friend, Arline Thienel, told KRIV that she shouldn’t have to ‘jump through hoops’ just because she doesn’t look her age.

‘I’d like to see the computers aligned up to 120 or whatever,’ Thienel said.

‘People live longer, so they don’t have to go through all that stress every time they travel.’

Despite her outrage, Biggerstaff said that the obstacles aren’t stopping her from traveling.

She’s continued to take her biannual trips to Gainesville with her daughter and hopes to one day travel abroad.

Biggerstaff revealed that if she ever wins the lottery, she plans on hopping on a plane to Italy.

Biggerstaff was previously featured on local news when she celebrated her 105th birthday

Biggerstaff said that even though she’s over 100, she doesn’t feel like she’s old

‘People will say to me, “how do you feel?” I say, “how should I feel? I feel ok. I don’t feel 106,”‘ she added.

KRIV had previously caught up with Biggerstaff last year when she celebrated her 105th birthday with three other centennial women at an active living facility.

She told the outlet that the ‘good Lord’ was keeping her feeling young and sharp. Her daughter, Carol Owen gushed about how ‘amazing’ Biggerstaff was.

‘She has been with me through everything,’ Owen added.
