Will Still has built something of a cult following in football and the latest revelation about him has only added to it.

Fans are going crazy for a clip that has emerged of him switching between English and French in a team talk – even if only one language gets the swear-word treatment.

Still, 32, made headlines when Reims appointed him as the youngest coach in Europe’s top five leagues when he was just 30 in October 2022.

Reims famously had to pay a £22,000 fine whenever he managed them because he did not have a UEFA Pro Licence.

He now manages Lens and has them eighth in Ligue 1, still with a hope of qualifying for the Champions League.

‘Okay, so their coach is going to see the referee, moaning about s***,’ he says in the half-time team talk, with all his playeers listening attentively.

‘Nothing crazy. it’s a little game of chess,’ he continues, switching deftly between languages.

‘The first team that’s going to be able to make the opposition team make a mistake is the team that’s going to win.

‘Be f****** patient. If we stick to the f****** basics, and the discipline is there, you win the game.

‘It’s going to be played on one s*** little detail. Alright? Stay patient, stay disciplined, come on!’

The clip was recorded during last season while he was managing Reims, though it is not clear what match it is from.

Wolves centre-back Emmanuel Agbadou is one of the players who was clearly fired up by the team-talk in the compact dressing room.

‘This guy is impressive,’ wrote one user on TikTok.

‘Love how he adds the swear words in English not in French,’ said another.

‘Will Still is a genius,’ one said.

‘Gordon Ramsay speech pattern,’ another joked.

Some West Ham and Chelsea fans, apparently not satisfied with Graham Potter and Enzo Maresca, even called for Still to be appointed at their clubs.

‘He should be at West Ham coyi (Come on you Irons),’ said one.

‘Come Chelsea,’ said another.

Still was born in Belgium to English parents and began his managerial career at the age of just 24 in 2017 with Lierse as a caretaker manager.

He has admitted his love of coaching came about as a result of the game Football Manager.

Still told Mail Sport in 2023 that he was keen to secure an opportunity in England in the future.

‘If the opportunity comes up to go back to England, then that’s obviously a dream,’ he said. ‘If it doesn’t, there will be something else, somewhere else.’
