Rebecca Loos said she “woke up with the biggest smile” after her alleged romp with David Beckham. But the England football legend’s former personal assistant said she now wished her decisions had been a bit smarter.

The 47-year-old said he was a “very charismatic guy” and she “fell hook, line and sinker for every single cliche line he fed me”. She claimed she “gave in” when he “just kept looking at me” in a nightclub while wife Victoria was out of town and “went back to his hotel room”.

“I woke up with the biggest smile on my face,’’ Rebecca told Australian TV 60 Minutes. She said: “it was naughty and I did feel that it was wrong but at the same time I was hooked.’’ Loos said she felt compelled to speak out again about the alleged 2004 fling – while Beckham was playing for Real Madrid – after it was referred to in his 2023 Netflix docuseries.

In the show Becks, 49, who vehemently denied the affair at the time, said that period was the first time he and then-wife-of-five-years Posh Spice had been “put under that kind of pressure in our marriage”.

Documentary director Fisher Stevens later told a podcast the former Manchester United star had `come clean’ about the affair during filming.

Loos told 60 Minutes she had “stuck to the truth” and “never exaggerated” or “lied about a single thing” because she was “up against the strongest, most powerful couple” who “have all the money in the world for the best PR, the best lawyers”.

The now-married mum-of-two said: “I wish that I had maybe been a bit smarter in the decisions I had made.

“But things were done the way they were done.

“And you just have to learn from it.’’

Asked what advice she would give her younger self if she could relive the experience she said fighting back tears: “I would tell her that she’s gonna be alright. I’ll tell her she’s gonna be okay and she will find love and happiness.’’

Neither David nor Victoria had responded to requests for comment last night.

Mum-of-three Victoria, 50, said it “felt like the world was against us”.

“And all I had on my side was the truth,’’ she said, adding the scandal had had a “traumatic” effect on her. I went up against England’s favourite son so it was a harsh environment to go up against,’’ she said.

“I think all of that impacted my mental health in a way that was quite traumatic. But I didn’t admit to it being traumatic because I wanted to be brave and strong.

“Some of it seeped through and got to me. And that has taken time to recover from.’’
