Police have arrested a 12-year-old after a teenager was attacked by others in a sickening filmed ambush and she was hospitalised for three days with serious injuries
A 13-year-old was reportedly attacked by a group of four on her way home from school, resulting in her being hospitalised for three days.
Olivia Allan was walking home in Morecambe, Lancashire when she was allegedly jumped by four girls.
Her horrified mum Keighley Marie said the attack on March 24 could have left her daughter with brain damage if she had suffered any other further blows to her head.
A 12-year-old girl has been arrested on suspicion of assault after the horrible attack. Footage on social media shows on person “raining down blows” to the girl’s face, Keighley said.
Olivia suffered chipped teeth, bruises and footprints on her legs.
A passer-by intervened and alerted the emergency services, but Olivia had already sustained damage to her neck, back, legs and face.
The girls apparently involved are not understood to be at Olivia’s school.
Olivia has had to spend three nights in hospital, close to Trimpell Sports and Social Club.
The girls allegedly “kicked her head like a football, stamped on her face and put a tooth through her lip”.
Her mum, a mental health nurse, told LancsLive: “It’s every parent’s worst nightmare. I was at work in Lancaster when I got a call about what had happened and it was obviously school time so there was traffic and I was in an absolute frenzy trying to get to her.
“”It just felt like it went on forever. The consultant in A&E said that if she had taken any more blows to the head, she could have been permanently brain damaged.”
She thanked the person that came to her aid, saying she saved her life. Keighley said the passer-by was walking from Westgate with her daughter and she could see in the distance that there had been an altercation/
The woman apparently restrained the alleged perpetrator, and then managed to contact emergency services. She reportedly waited with Olivia until local police officers arrived.
Keighley said her daughter will have trauma and she has been referred to Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.
She said her and Olivia’s father have gone through horrible trauma and she has had to be prescribed sleeping tablets.
Keighley said she has had to be signed off work and she no longer goes outside, but she has two other children to care for.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: “We received a report of an assault on Moss Lane, Morecambe, at around 3.40pm on March 24, 2025. A teenage girl suffered injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. She has since been discharged.
