An update has been given on Broadway Boy and Celebre d’Allen’s condition after brutal falls in the 2025 Grand National.
Broadway Boy suffered a heavy fall while leading the Grand National, while 100/1 shot Celebre d’Allen also fell during the race.
An update from the Daily Mail read: “Important news: Broadway Boy has been treated on the course, assessed by vets and has walked onto a horse ambulance and returned to the stables for further assessment. Celebre D’Allen has also walked onto a horse ambulance and has been taken back to his stables.”
Fans had been left furious after ITV’s coverage of the Grand National failed to give an update on the leading horse’s condition after he took a nasty fall.
Just before ITV’s coverage went off air, presenter Ed Chamberlain said Broadway Boy and Celebre d’Allen were being assessed on the course and that all 34 jockeys were okay and had returned to the weighing room.

The race was won by 33/1 shot Nick Rockett in a historic father and son triumph for jockey Patrick Mullins and trainer Willie Mullins to land the £500,000 winners’ prize jackpot.
It was also an emotional moment for owner Stewart Andrew following the death of his wife Sadie in December 2022, who is still officially registered as the horse’s owner.
Sadie watched Nick Rockett’s debut days before she died and told her husband to take the horse to Mullins’ yard. Stewart and Willie grew closer following Sadie’s passing and the Irish owner broke down in tears speaking to ITV after the win.

The British Horse Racing Authority has a fatality review process for when race horses die. The process sees them gather information from racecourse staff, the jockeys, trainers, trainer’s veterinary surgeon and relevant medication and training records.
That data is then collated, analysed and reviewed by a panel of industry experts. BHA say more than £50million has been invested into advancing equine health, veterinary science and research since the year 2000.
