A Primark outlet in Greater Manchester was cordoned off on the evening of Monday, April 7, following the tragic death of a woman.
Emergency services, including police and paramedics, were summoned to the Market Place location in Oldham after receiving reports concerning a woman’s welfare. Eyewitnesses recounted seeing the area outside the store being sealed off by law enforcement officers, following reports of a woman falling ill within the premises. An air ambulance was dispatched to the scene, landing in the nearby Sainsbury’s supermarket car park, with paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service also in attendance.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed that a 60-year-old woman had suffered a medical episode and was subsequently pronounced dead. No additional details have been disclosed at this time, reports the Manchester Evening News.
The cordon remained in place as emergency personnel responded to the incident. The circumstances surrounding the incident are not believed to be suspicious.
