Nicole Wiggington admitted to bringing a student back to her home for ‘sexual encounters’ behind her husband’s back on two occasions. The age of the student is not known
The married school dinner lady who was embroiled in a teen sex scandal has swapped the cafeteria for a prison cell as she’s been banged up. Amy Nicole Wiggington, 41, who is married with children, confessed to bringing a teen student home for sex on two occasions.
She is alleged to have taken a Lauderdale County Schools pupil to her home in Rogersville, Alabama, for sexual encounters on March 7 and 31 without her husband’s knowledge. She admitted to the offences when police took her into custody earlier this week, court records reportedly showed.
The age of the student is not known but because Wiggington has not been charged with child abuse, it is unlikely the boy was under the age of 16 – Alabama’s age of consent. She has been charged with two counts of a school employee engaging in a sex act.
According to the school group’s website, Lauderdale County Schools system includes four middle schools, seven elementary schools and four high schools.
In a statement shared with WAAY TV, a spokesperson said: “The Lauderdale County Board of Education is aware of the allegations, and the employee has been placed on administrative leave We will continue to cooperate with law enforcement officials, and have no further comment on this matter.”
Wiggington is currently imprisoned at Lauderdale County Jail after being arrested last week. She won’t be released before court unless she pays her $100,000 bond (£77,609).
Last week, footage emerged of an Illinois special education teacher being arrested in front of her husband over the alleged rape of a teenage student. Christina Formella, 30, could be heard asking for her husband and sobbing in the back seat of a police vehicle on March 16 of this year.
“I feel like I’m gonna throw up,” she sobbed at one point, prompting officers to quickly fetch a bag in case she became ill. Formella, who taught at Downers Grove South High School, was arrested following accusations that she sexually abused a 15-year-old student she tutored and coached football two years prior.
The pair reportedly exchanged texts declaring their love and explicitly discussing sexual encounters they had in a school classroom.
“I love you sooooo much baby… Even though this morning was short, it was perfect,” Formella, then 28, allegedly messaged the boy.
Their incriminating texts came to light just days before her arrest when the boy’s mother was setting up a new phone for him, leading to his confession of the alleged affair, which he claims to have ended, and subsequent reporting to the authorities.
Formella found herself in a bewildering situation when police halted her car in the Chicago suburbs. With her husband by her side, she faced confusion as officers asked her to exit the vehicle.
