EXCLUSIVE: The Universal Studios opening in Bedford, UK, is set to feature Bruce Forsyth’s ‘ghost’ ‘playing the spoons’ while Brits queue up for their favourite ride
Universal Studios in the UK might be haunted by the ghost of Bruce Forsyth, after the spectre of the famous Strictly host made a chilling promise.
The entertainment giant has broken the news that they’ve secured the prime location to construct Europe’s first-ever Universal theme park, after they got the green light from the UK government.
When the famous adventure opens in 2031, there might be a special guest gracing the site. There could be all manner of celebs queuing up for their turn on a rollercoaster ride, but one person (or ghost) is nailed on: everyone’s favourite two-stepping OAP, Bruce Forsyth.
Speaking to the Daily Star, one “mystery Bedford man” assured us of Brucie’s presence at Universal when it opens “down the road from us” in six years.
He reckons the legendary performer’s ghost will be making a cameo.
The same man told us last year the former Strictly host’s spectre resided in his car. He made the ghoulish discovery after a can of beer exploded without warning, overheard by the bloke’s dog ‘A’.
It’s unconfirmed whether Brucie will be on the sauce when he rocks up at Universal Studios, but we know he’ll be in fine form regardless.
“Bruce was getting louder and louder,” the mystery Bedford man said. “He’s hinting he’ll be playing on the opening night. Probably on the spoons.”
“Nice to go on the rollercoasters, to go on the rollercoasters – nice,” added Bruce – via our man in Bedford.
Bedfordshire is set to be the spot for Universal’s UK site, with a six-year construction timeline pencilled in. A deal between Universal, which the UK Government and local council finalised on Tuesday, is expected to rake in a much-needed £50billion for the economy.
“It’s already made a big difference to people here,” said our man in Bedford, who’s had Bruce as a “car-guest” for the best part of 12 months. “I’m not worried about building works so much as I am about the potential rise in prices at our local Wetherspoons.”
Prime Minister Keir Starmer backed the plans, saying the attraction will create around 28,000 jobs – 20,000 in the construction period and 8,000 working on the site when it opens to visitors in 2031.
He said: “It is not just about numbers; it’s about securing real opportunities for people in our country.
“Together, we are building a brighter future for the UK, getting people into work and ensuring our economy remains strong and competitive.”
New railway and transport links are to be built around the new park after UK ministers made promises to make sure the investment will be easily accessible for visitors, and ghosts, obviously.
