Ballon d’Or pink carpet stunners and controversy from see-through tops to ‘bikini fashions’

The red carpet leading into the Théâtre du Châtelet duly delivered the glitz and the glamour to the Ballon d’Or ceremony on Monday evening.

It saw see-through tops, bikini models arriving with former Ballon d’Or winners almost 40 years their senior and a PSG icon’s stunning WAG stealing the show as she flaunted her sizeable assets in a black dress.

However, it wasn’t all about the WAGs, as Lamine Yamal – after a summer partying with adult stars before settling down with Argentine pop star Nicki Nicole – opted to walk the red carpet with his biggest fan: his grandmother.

Kate Scott, who was on hosting duties, appeared alongside her husband Malik Scott in a low cut sparkling dress. While Canadian singer Charlotte Cardin, who wowed with her performance to open the show, opted for a sleek all-black look.

The Lionesses were out in force after their Euro 2025 victory over the summer – Chloe Kelly, who is no stranger to glam events, also opted for an all-black look. While Leah Williamson can claim to have stolen the show with an oversized suit and a see-through lace top.

However, neither Kelly or Williamson would win the ultimate prize – that would go to Aitana Bonmati, who wowed in a red sequinned dress, completing a three-peat of Ballon d’Or’s.

Over on the men’s side Gianluigi Donnarumma picked up the Lev Yashin trophy as he arrived in Paris with his family just over 24 hours after Manchester City’s crunch Premier League clash with Arsenal.

He would pick up the award in front of fellow shot-stopper Yann Sommer, who was accompanied by his scorching hot wife Alina – flaunting her good looks in a matte grey dress.

Ousmane Dembele was the men’s Ballon d’Or winning, the PSG star is the latest in a long line of star’s to win the accolade that also includes Lothar Matthaus – who walked the red carpet with a bikini model who wasn’t even born when he won the award in 1990.

And Daily Star Sport has a look at some of the best outfits on the red carpet…
