BREAKING Two-child profit cap to be lifted in weeks in enormous DWP change

The controversial two-child benefit cap is expected be lifted in November’s budget by Chancellor Rachel Reeves. Government Officials are said to be exploring a new “tapered” system.

The child poverty taskforce is expected to say the most effective method of taking hundreds of thousands kids out of poverty is lifting the two-child limit for Universal Credit and child tax credit. Keir Starmer and Rachel Reeves have both said they will respond to the recommendations of the taskforce.

Government sources told the Guardian they expect action to be taken in November’s election. They said: “If we’re going to do it, we have to lift the cap, not just language.”
