England manager Thomas Tuchel criticised the ‘silent’ supporters as the Three Lions cruised to victory over Wales in Thursday evening’s friendly match. England dominated the game at Wembley, securing a 3-0 lead within the first 20 minutes.

Goals were scored by Morgan Rogers, Ollie Watkins and Bukayo Saka. However, despite being pleased with his team’s performance, Tuchel expressed disappointment with the lack of vocal support from the full-house crowd at Wembley.

In an interview with ITV Sport, he remarked: “We had one and a half training days to prepare against a well-trained team and we did very well. We could have been 5-0 up at half-time.

“We couldn’t score the fourth and fifth ones. The stadium was silent. We didn’t get any energy back from the stands. We did everything to win.”

When asked if he expected more from the fans, Tuchel responded: “Yes. What more can you give in 20 minutes? We didn’t let them escape. If you hear just Wales fans for half an hour, it’s sad because the team deserved more support today.”

Despite the subdued atmosphere at Wembley, it was a night to remember for Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers who netted his first goal for his country. Commenting on his performance, Tuchel said: “He is what he is. He is a number 10 and he is competing for his place. He is in a good way.”

“We are ready for any team effort. Serbia was the next example of teamwork. We created a lot of chances. We could use Harry [Kane] all the time, but we need to play without Harry and Jude – the guys are injured. I think we played an excellent first half.”

When questioned about where his maiden England strike sits amongst his career achievements, Rogers revealed: “Right at the top. It’s a proud moment to do it at home too in a home nation derby. A dream come true.

“The quality of players we have with people here and not here, you can never be too comfortable, or else people will take your role.”

England return to action on Tuesday night when they face Latvia. Tuchel’s squad will move considerably closer to World Cup qualification with a win reports the Mirror.

The Three Lions currently lead Group K, having secured victory in all five of their qualifying matches to date.
